Comedy Murder Mystery Dinner
Something new and different for us -- we attended our first mystery event. Dale got a small speaking role in The Field of Schemes. He played the role of Homer D. Brave, one of two undercover CIA agents (the other was Orlando Dufree). When Orlando "blabbed" to the investigator (he's that rather sickly-looking Elvis in the picture) that they were CIA agents, Homer was to jump in and say his lines. I didn't know what to expect from Dale since he's sometimes shy -- little did I know what an actor he is! (He wore his sunglasses and coat because he wanted to really get into the role, and "CIA agents wear them.") I stepped to the back to take a picture and all of a sudden I heard this big, bellowing voice: "Shut up, Homer," then to the investigator: "He has a drinking problem. We're not CIA agents, we're, uh, baseball fans, yeah, that's it, baseball fans." Startled me so much I almost forgot to take the picture!
